This well-worn brown lamp has a peculiar shape which resembles the body of a ray fish, being somewhat ovoid with a more pointed appearance in three places. The large recessed discus is centrally pierced and decorated with radiating petals. Shape: Lozenge-shaped lamp with short triangular nozzle; flat base surrounded by four concentric shallow grooves; central fill hole in broad concave discus. Decoration: Relief decoration on top consisting of radiating tongue pattern within outer edge of discus; possible floral motif on shoulders. Inscriptions: None. Condition: Intact; surface very worn; minor chips; burning around nozzle.
