This tan, pendant- shaped lamp has a medium voluted nozzle. It is also one of the frog lamps, with the rear legs of the frog discernible. The flanks, however, are well worn. There is a potter's mark on the bottom. Shape: Round bodied lamp with flat base set off by circular groove; slightly carinated body profile; small off-center concave discus with central fill hole; long extended, slightly splayed nozzle, rounded at the end. Decoration: Frog lamp. Relief decoration on top consisting of depressed channel on nozzle axis containing band of chevrons, framed by volutes with curled ends at edge of discus; stylized frog on shoulder; hind legs and slight tail visible opposite nozzle; ovoid patches of hatching on either side representing body. Inscriptions: Potter's mark on base (alpha). Condition: Intact; worn; heavily burnt on nozzle.
