This tan, pendant-shaped lamp has a short, pointed nozzle with a large pierced wick hole. The design on this frog lamp is worn, but distinguishable. The head and rear legs are present. The bottom bears a potter's mark. Shape: Roughly heart-shaped lamp with nearly flat base, set off by circular groove; sharply carinated body profile; small, concave discus with central fill hole; extended nozzle, triangular at the tip; no handle. Decoration: Frog lamp. Relief decoration around discus consisting of highly stylized frog design; rear legs visible opposite nozzle; small head visible near nozzle; pair of circular ridges around discus. Inscriptions: Potter's mark on base (alpha). Condition: Intact; burnt around wick hole; overall good.
