From the top this lamp is almond shaped but the profile is boat-like. The handle, now worn to a lump, was of pyramidal type and rode high on the rim next to the large fill hole. The only decoration is a ridge encircling the fill hole and pierced wick hole, and a green slip which covered the top and dripped on the sides. Shape: Almond-shaped lamp w/ teardrop-shaped ring base; sharply carinated profile; flat almond-shaped upper surface set off by raised ridge; nozzle at tip; large fill hole at rear, also surrounded by a raised ridge; opposite nozzle is upright triangular handle, largely worn away. Decoration: Green slip dripped around top and shoulder. Relief decoration on shoulder consisting of five low-relief circles in a row on either side of handle. Inscriptions: None. Condition: Intact; minor surface chips; very worn.
