This gray, fictile lamp is rounded almond-shaped. It has a very large, pierced wick hole and a large fill hole. The design on the top around the fill hole is geometric, although it could be a stylized petal design. The bottom bears a potter's mark. Shape: Roughly almond-shaped lamp with slight ring base set off by circular groove; two pairs of diagonal grooves on underside of nozzle; slightly carinated body profile; large central fill hole with irregular edges, set off by circular ridge and two grooves; short extended nozzle, rounded at tip, with large wick hole (0.012 diam.). Decoration: Relief decoration on top consisting of radiating petal design; series of short parallel ridges along nozzle axis. Inscriptions: Potter's mark on base (curved swastika?) Condition: Intact; minor chips along edge of fill hole; very dirty and worn.
