This fictile, sunken rim lamp has a small, pierced fill hole, a broken handle, projections on the side, and has a short, broken nozzle. Shape: Round bodied lamp with flat base, outlined by shallow groove; slightly convex body profile; broad concave discus with small central fill hole; short spout with wick hole; two side lug handles at right angles to spout, unpierced with depressions on top; attachments for vertical ring handle in back (now missing). Decoration: Traces of dark red slip on top. Relief decoration on top consisting of shallow channel from discus to wick hole; band of small depressed circles around outer edge of discus. Inscriptions: None. Condition: Mostly complete; missing rear handle and end of spout; very worn; encrusted and discolored.
